Patch version: 1.000.302

Aaand we're back. Apologies for going AWOL, been a busy week for me IRL, did I miss anything...?

...well, I guess nothing like a quadruple Stalker Lair mission to welcome me back to the fold! There were quite a few nice changes in the last balance patch (along with some less popular ones...), but thought I'd try out the newly buffed Adjudicator with the Stalwart today. Enjoy!

My upload schedule may be a little more irregular from now on, but I'll try and keep them coming, and I'm looking forward to trying out the new Warbond tomorrow!

Build:

So the Adjudicator received some buffs with a decrease to recoil and increase to max ammo, making it more useable in full auto. While these are smaller QOL changes, I feel like it’s always been a little underappreciated – its medium armour penetration means it can take out a couple of Brood Commanders or Hiveguards in one magazine, i.e. performing as well as the Breaker, and crucially it lets you still take on Bile Spewers with headshots if you’re using a support weapon that lacks armour penetration or is for Anti-Tank only.

So for this run I’m pairing it with the Stalwart – while the Stalwart takes care of all the light armour enemies, I can switch to the Adjudicator when I need some extra firepower vs Hiveguards, Brood Commanders, and even Nursing Spewers.

This build is no slouch when it comes to heavies either – as always I have the 500kg for Bile Titans, and the Airstrike for groups of Chargers, but I’ve also recently come to really appreciate the humble Orbital Precision Strike. Not only does this have the firepower to take out Chargers and finish off Bile Titans, it has a relatively short cooldown of 100s, under half the cooldown of a Railcannon Strike, and crucially it isn’t tied to the Eagle Rearm, meaning you can start its cooldown early and use it while your Eagles are on cooldown.

Especially when it comes to bugs, I feel like one of the strengths of this game is that trash clear is always valuable even on the highest difficulties, and actually for solo play I find I have an easier time bringing an anti-trash support weapon, with strats to deal with the less frequent heavies.

I feel like the discourse around the Railgun is similar as well - people undervalue its ability to take on medium enemies as well as heavies, and expect it to measure up to the pure Anti-Tanks - hopefully I can do another video post-buff to show how useful the Railgun can be these days.
